Bundaberg Set to Welcome Queensland's Best as Table Tennis Queensland Announces 2026 Veterans Open Teams Championships

Table Tennis Queensland (TTQ), in partnership with the Bundaberg Regional Council, is proud to officially announce that Bundaberg will host the 2026 Queensland Open Veterans Team Championships.
The state event will be held over three action-packed days from 4–6 September 2026 at the Bundaberg Table Tennis Association.
The championships will see the state’s veteran athletes competing in the team's format event, serving as the perfect preparation for the National Veterans Championships in October.
For TTQ, bringing this landmark event to Bundaberg represents a vital part of its mission tosupport local associations and showcasetable tennis across Queensland.
"We are delighted to bring the Queensland Open Veterans Team Championships to Bundaberg this September," said Table Tennis Queensland CEO, Brady Walmsley. "The Bundaberg Table Tennis Association is a fantastic club, and working alongside the Bundaberg Regional Council ensures we can deliver great experience for our competitors."
Beyond the competition on the tables, the tournament is expected to deliver an economic injection to the Bundaberg region, with 80% of players, coaches, and spectators traveling in and utilising local accommodation, dining, and retail.
Mayor Helen Blackburn said Bundaberg Regional Council was pleased to partner with Table Tennis Queensland to bring this prestigious state championship to Bundaberg.

"We're delighted to welcome Queensland's veteran table tennis players to Bundaberg and know they'll enjoy not only a great competition but also the hospitality, attractions and relaxed lifestyle our region is known for."
TTQ invites all local sports fans and community members to come down to the stadium across the weekend to witnesssome of the state's best veteran players.
Team nominations and player registration details will be sent directly to affiliated clubs and made available on the official Table Tennis Queensland website in the coming weeks.
