Important Information:

  • All events are subject to entries received and the tournament referee may combine events or cancel events subject to entries. Any players who enter an event that does not go ahead will receive a full refund for that event. 
  • All players may enter the open events, plus two consecutive age events only
    For example,
    U13 & U15 singles, U13 & U15 doubles, plus all open events

Event Fees 

The entry fees for the events are to be confirmed. 

Prize Money 

Prize money for the open men's and women's singles events are to be confirmed.

South Pine Indoor Sports Centre (620 South Pine Road, Brendale, QLD 4500)

The venue offers the following facilities and services for event participants, families and supporters:

Canteen

A full canteen service will be available each day of the event, including a variety of food and drinks. The canteen area is fully air-conditioned and offers ample tables and seating for event attendees. 

Parking

The venue offers plenty off-street FREE parking adjacent to the main enterance. 

Spectator Seating

The playing area offers ample permanent seating during the event. Please be reminded only coaches, offcicals and accredited photographers are permitted to enter the playing area during matches. 

Bathroom & Shower Facilities

The venue offers male, female and disabled bathroom facilities adjacent to the main playing area.

There are 3 showers available in each of the male and female change rooms which are seperate from the public toilet facilities. For players who wish to utilise the shower facilities, please bring your own towels, soap and other requirements.

2027 Selection Cycles

Junior - 1 July 2026 to TBC

Eligiblility Criteria 

  1. Be in good financial standing with TTQ and registered at the appropriate National membership level as defined by TTA.
  2. Compete in inter-association teams’ event at the relevant Queensland Closed Championships; the only exception to this will be if the player has nominated for the event but has not been placed in a team for the Championships. In this case, that player must participate in the relevant singles event at the championships. 
  3. In the 12 months prior to the relevant QLD Closed Championships, players must have participated in a minimum of one additional TTQ sanctioned association open tournament or QLD Open Championship. 
  4. Players must satisfy the conditions and requirements set down by Table Tennis Australia (TTA) in the TTA National Championships Regulations. 
  5. Meet any age criteria as prescribed by TTA and/or TTQ. 
  6. Be available to participate in the whole Teams Event at the relevant Australian Championships.
  7. Have submitted the relevant State Team Nomination Form by the due date; and
  8. Meet any expectations to attend High Performance Training Camps and other preparation requirements

Selection Criteria 

Selection of a player for a Queensland state representative team shall be based on the following:

6.1.1 QLD Rankings to be used as the “primary guide” for player selection. 

6.1.2 In exceptional circumstances, selectors can apply discretion to select a player from outside of the QLD ranking order. However, reasons for selection must be clearly documented.  

6.1.3 Other Considerations: Previous performances and behaviour whilst representing Queensland.

TTQ is inviting expressions of interest from eligible players who wish to nominate for QLD state team selection in 2027 to represent QLD at the National Senior, Para, Junior, or Veterans Championships.

The Eatons Hill Village Shops are located a short 2 minute drive from the venue (640 South Pine Road, Brendale) and offer a range of outlets listed below. 

Any participant withdrawing on Thursday 26 November 2026 or earlier will be entitled to a full refund for entry fees.

Tournament Conditions

  1. Officials > see tournament officials
  2. TIBHAR 3-Star Competition Balls will be used. ITTF-Approved tables and net assembly will be used. Wooden flooring will be used.
  3. The Championships will be held under ITTF Laws of Table Tennis and Regulations for International Competitions and TTQ State Championships Regulations.
  4. All players must be registered and financial members of TTQ at Club or Club Concession level. Social members are not eligible to participate.
  5. Entrants into Para Categories must be classified as eligible to compete prior to the start of competition.
  6. All individual matches will be best of 5 games. All Doubles Events will be best of 5 games knockout (subject to change at referees’ discretion).
  7. All singles events will be played in two stages. Stage 1 will be qualifying groups of 3 or 4 players, Stage 2 will be a knockout draw.
  8. Events may be combined in the event of insufficient numbers in any category.
  9. No entry will be accepted without the full amount of fees due via the online registration system.
  10. ITTF rules regarding rackets and racket coverings will be enforced.
  11. Players absent when required to play will render themselves liable to disqualification.
  12. ITTF clothing regulations will be enforced. The main colour of a shirt or shorts must not be white. Players should be neatly dressed, and not wear any clothing that might cause offence or bring the game into disrepute. Nominated doubles pairs should be dressed uniformly. Club shirts must be worn for all team matches. Non-marking footwear to be worn.
  13. No claim will be recognised should a player receive an injury during the Championship.
  14. A designated area to be advised for gluing or re-gluing of rackets in the playing venue.
  15. In order to play in an age event where the relevant age is denoted as “over”, a player must be at least the age of the event as of the 31st day of December of the year in which the State Championship is held.
  16. This event will be subject to filming and photography of participants, coaches and spectators. Only authorised persons approved by TTQ will be permitted to photograph or film inside the competition venue. Participants give consent for the entrant to be filmed or photographed during the championships and for TTQ to use these images for table tennis promotional & live recording purposes.

Due to the non air-conditioned environment of the QLD Open, the Tournament Director, in liason with the Tournament Referee, reserves the right to postpone or reschedule the event if the forcast temperature for the day 2 hours prior to commencement of the day's activity is advertised to be 34 degrees celcius or higher. 

Where the forecast temperature is 36 degrees celcius or higher 2 hours prior to the commencement of the event, the Tournament Director reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event.

The Tournament Director shall have a level of discretion based on the temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors when determining and implementing this requirement.

All participants are bound by Table Tennis Australia’s National Integrity Framework. This includes policies on safeguarding, member protection, improper use of drugs and medicines, competition manipulation and sports gambling, and complaints, disputes and discipline processes. All players and persons involved with this event are also subject to the TTQ Code of Conduct, it is the responsibility of persons subject to this Code of Conduct to honour this Code of Conduct not merely in its literal sense, but also in its spirit.

This Policy applies to Relevant Persons being:
1.1 Board Members, Committee Members, and Life Members of TTQ;
1.2 Affiliated Associations;
1.3 Employees of TTQ;
1.4 Players, coaches, managers, selectors and other officials within the sport of table tennis:
     (a) Participating in any event, competition or tournament organised by, or under the authority or auspices of, TTQ and any of its affiliated associations.
     (b) Appointed by TTQ or selected by TTQ for appointment to any State or representative team or squad from the time of their appointment or selection until the            conclusion of their period of appointment.
1.5 Parents/Guardians and spectators at TTQ/TTA sanctioned events

Access to the playing area will be restricted to players, coaches & officials ONLY while matches are in progress during the event.

There is ample permanent seating around the permiter of the playing area offering spectators a good view of the playing area. 

Tournament officials reserve the right to ask any person not adhering to this request, to leave the playing area. 

We thank all spectators and supporters in advance for adhering to this request. There will be signage posted to reinforce this request at the entry to the playing areas.

TTQ has all rights over the photography of participants, coaches and spectators as per the tournamnet conditions. Anyone wishing to take photos or video inside the event playing and spectator area must contact TTQ to apply for accreditation.
