Special Olympic Queensland 2019


Special Olympics Queensland have released the competition dates for the 2019 tournament calendar.

Calling all volunteers and umpires interested in assisting with umpiring Special Olympic Qld players at their upcoming Tournaments. Special Olympics provide sporting opportunities to people with an Intellectual Disability. Kim Hammermeister (State Head Coach) would be very happy to meet with you prior to the event to discuss the Rules etc which do not differ from generic table tennis.

The first Tournament of the year is to be held at the Brisbane Table Tennis Centre at Green Tce Windsor from 8:30am till 1pm on the 23rd February. We have players from Bundaberg, Mackay,Sunshine and Gold Coast as well as Brisbane players attending. We commence the day with Singles and complete the day with Doubles and a ribbon presentation.

BBQ lunch and morning tea is provided for all the volunteers.

Volunteering opportunities are also available to assist with the Brisbane Special Olympics players at their regular training group from 2:30 - 4:30pm every Wednesday at the Brisbane Table Tennis Centre it would be greatly appreciated. Just contact Kim on the above contact details.
