Indoor Industry Sport Sector Plan Approved



As announced by the QLD Premier, Stage 3 of the easing of COVID-19 restrictions have been brought forward to 12:00pm on Friday 3rd July.

Changes for the Table Tennis Community that now apply:

As of 12noon on Friday 3rd July, permitted activities for sport, recreation and fitness organisations when following a COVID Safe Industry Plan include:

  • One person per two square metres for venues of 200 square metres or less (up to a total of 50 people); and – one person per four square metres for venues of 200 square metres or more.
  • No social distancing of participants required in the ‘field of play’ during competition and training
  • DOUBLES are now permitted
  • Social distancing to apply everywhere else within the venue
  • Players encouraged to ‘play/train’ and then depart asap, rather than socialising for extended periods at the venue

Please continue to observe the continuing restrictions during Stage 3 including:

  • Social distancing, 1.5 metres and hygiene
  • Stay at home if you’re sick
  • Tracking, tracing, rapid response
  • Frequent cleaning and disinfection
  • Ongoing personal hygiene and safety practices

More events allowed: Fewer than 500 people – no approval needed when following a COVID Safe Event Checklist 

COVID Safe Industry Plans continue to apply with revisions to reflect changes in Stage 3.

The Table Tennis Queensland Board of Management have agreed to comply with the plan. 

All TTQ affiliated Associations opting to comply with the Indoor Industry Sport Sector Plan are required to print, sign and display the Industry COVID Safe Plan Statement of Compliance at all venues and during all club activities activities.
